    Biography

Melissa Croxton Taylor joined Wettermark Keith’s personal injury litigation department in 2023 as an Associate Attorney. Melissa’s diverse legal background in both defense and plaintiff work makes her an invaluable addition to the firm. With extensive experience with personal injury litigation and a passion for helping others, Melissa is committed to providing the best possible representation for her clients, working tirelessly to ensure their needs are met and their voices are heard.

    Education

Born and raised in the Birmingham area, Melissa has always had a strong connection to her local community. She completed her undergraduate studies in criminal justice at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with the intent of becoming a military police officer. Instead, she continued on to law school, earning her Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law in 2004. Alongside her academic achievements, Melissa excelled as part of the Army ROTC program. Her journey into law began at UAB, when her ROTC sergeant and pre-law professors encouraged her to pursue a legal career, recognizing her potential for success in the field and her innate drive to help others.

Melissa’s broad experiences in defense and personal injury litigation have equipped her with the knowledge and expertise required to defend her clients with skill and compassion. Before joining Wettermark Keith, Melissa worked for several small and mid-sized litigation firms in Birmingham, where she gained experience in a number of practice areas. In 2006, Melissa’s decision to focus on defense work litigation led her to work at an insurance defense firm, and later to a management position in Geico’s litigation department, where she honed her ability to handle complex cases efficiently. Melissa also worked at a small, two-attorney firm, where she gained additional expertise handling plaintiff work.
