Cooper Ellenberg II
Personal Injury Attorney

Biography
Cooper is a seasoned personal injury attorney licensed to practice in Alabama, Mississippi, and New York. With a career that spans over a decade and multiple states, he brings a wealth of litigation experience and a deep commitment to public safety—particularly in the field of commercial transportation law.
Born in Athens, Georgia and raised in Alpharetta, Cooper spent his early post-college years working in Atlanta before earning his law degree. He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2010 during the height of the Recession, when legal hiring was at a standstill. Instead of waiting for an opportunity, Cooper created one—launching a small practice in Tuscaloosa where he handled personal injury, criminal defense, and family law cases. After a devastating tornado in 2011, he relocated to Birmingham and began narrowing his focus to serious personal injury and trucking litigation.
Over the next several years, Cooper worked for a boutique commercial transportation litigation firm and later practiced independently, representing clients nationwide in wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and consumer financial protection cases. He’s represented plaintiffs in more than 15 states and 20 federal districts, including high-stakes matters involving the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), and data privacy violations.
One of Cooper’s earliest trucking cases involved representing a grieving mother whose young son was killed in a commercial vehicle crash. That experience profoundly shaped his career. As a father himself, Cooper felt a strong moral drive to pursue justice for victims and improve roadway safety for families across the country.
Outside of the courtroom, Cooper values time with his wife and children above all else—whether they’re hiking in the mountains or on the baseball field where he coaches Little League. He’s also passionate about photography, astronomy, astrophotography, and ancient history. A lifelong learner, he follows civil rights and public interest litigation closely and has contributed behind the scenes to true crime podcasts and YouTube channels.
Education
Cooper earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clemson University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law, where he was awarded an academic scholarship.
