MATT ABBOTT

Personal Injury Attorney

Intro: Matt, or as we like to call him “The Outlawyer,” proudly represents the legal needs of those with personal injury and wrongful death claims. He focuses on the litigation areas of tractor-trailer accidents, automobile accidents, defective product liability, and medical and pharmaceutical negligence. He also serves clients who have been victims of consumer fraud and insurance bad faith. In short, Matt is a trial lawyer who makes insurance companies pay full value on claims they don't want to. He and his legal team strive to make sure his clients are informed, educated, and up to speed on their cases, so they have all the information needed to make informed decisions. His goal is to ensure they feel as comfortable as they can throughout the litigation process.

Background: Matt graduated magna cum laude, receiving his BA from Auburn University. He later received his Juris Doctorate from Samford University Cumberland School of Law. Soon after graduating, he began his practice with a large Birmingham personal injury law firm in 2000. He went on to work at a smaller firm in Pell City, St. Clair County, Alabama, eventually opening his own personal injury law firm in 2007. Matt joined the Wettermark Keith team in 2020, after thirteen successful years of managing his firm.

Matt’s “Why”: To Matt, his why is very simple: client satisfaction. He finds it extremely rewarding to help good people through very bad and often tragic situations.
